Family ARTventures Tours and Art Stops

Wee Wednesdays at Cincinnati Art Museum

Family Day at the National Museum of the US Air Force
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2015  - Saturday, January 17, 2015
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Commemorate the anniversary of Spirit and Opportunity -- the twin Mars rovers -- by learning about the exciting field of robotics.

Designed for children and adults of all ages, Family Day offers several hands-on opportunities for all to enjoy. Aerospace demonstration stations, located throughout the museum's galleries, teach fun and simple aerospace principles, such as the role of robotics in the Air Force, examples of robotic toys, working robotics and more.

"Storytime" begins at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Early Years Gallery. Preschool and primary-grade children are invited to sit under the wings of airplanes and listen to stories about robots and Mars travel. Participants also can make a paper robot.

These free activities take place in various locations throughout the museum from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Cincinnati Pops Lollipops Family Concert

Let your imagination run wild in this classical musical story for children, Saint-Saëns’ beloved Carnival of the Animals. Hear the royal lion, the graceful swan and a dozen other amazing animals, brought to life through music and poetry! Lollipops concerts are perfect for children ages 3 to 10. The pre-concert Family Fun Zone starts at 9:30 am.

Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions

High - Low. Fast - Slow. Listen Closely. Here We Go -- Opposites attract when it comes to making music! You'll have lots of fun listening to the flute, string bass, piano and drums while they show how it's done with musical opposites.

These interactive, hands-on concerts provide children, ages 2-6, and their families the opportunity to enjoy classical music together.
