Suite
 

An instrumental composition consisting of several shorter pieces or movements. Suites in the Baroque era were made up of alternating fast and slow dance movements. Later on, suites came to include collections of music from a larger piece (like a ballet, or incidental music from a play) arranged for concert performance.
