Bassoon

Bassoon

A long, narrow woodwind instrument with a double reed. The wooden tube of the instrument is doubled back on itself to reduce its height. Bassoons play the low notes in the woodwind family. Blowing the reed makes it vibrate to create the sound. The pitch is changed by opening and closing holes on the sides of the instrument.
